Melting place on the Caye Caulker – The Split
The best known place on the island is a narrow waterway called the Split which divides the island in two parts. It is also a melting place for all the tourists and the party centre with buckets always full of cold beer and tasty snacks. However there is not a lot to do on the island. On the bike you may cross the whole island in one hour so that gives you some idea about the size of the island. It is about 5 miles (8 km) long and about 0,8 miles (1,3 km) wide.
